Methodology
The expansion of Auckland’s rail network has lead to the construction of new lines and stations.
In this case, an existing storm water line ran directly under the new station area.
The storm water line itself could not take the weight of traditional fill being placed and compacted over it.
The solution was to place Koolfoam lightweight fill over the area.
This reduced weight on the storm water pipe while maintaining the compressive strength required for the construction of the station above.
