When it comes to concrete slab floors, a significant amount of heat can be lost through a slab’s vertical edge. To improve the energy efficiency of new builds, New Zealand’s Building Code was updated in May 2023 to require the installation of edge insulation on all exterior exposed vertical faces of concrete slabs – from the top edge down to the bottom of the footing. Koolfoam’s SlabEdge is our latest fit-for-purpose innovation. Made from Koolfoam XPS (Extruded Polystyrene), our SlabEdge panels are the ultimate thermal edging solution.
